Our planning application for our clients in Highgate was recently approved by Haringey Council. Our clients live in a double-fronted Victorian terrace, however despite having two generously-sized lounges, the kitchen (inherited from the previous owner) is dated, cramped, and poorly finished, and the dining room is positioned in the dimly-lit centre of the house, far from natural light.
Our proposal is to extend the rear, to allow us to fit a generous kitchen and dining space along the rear of the house, bringing the most daylight into these spaces. The space currently taken up by the dingy dining room will be reconfigured to provide a much-needed ground floor WC and a separate utility room.
Sometimes even minor interventions - we are only adding 10m² - unlock the full value of otherwise inefficient spaces. This is all the more important in a part of London where the average house costs over £9,000 per m².
